425 hurricane flooded

Postby poppaluv66 » Sun Jan 15, 2006 6:31 pm

Hi everybody!! Glad to see another site. I'm posting this here as well so I can get some Nailhead expertise...Can never have too many MY 425 (and my '66 Riv and house) were under about 7 ft. of water for about 10 days. The nailhead was partially dissasembled (heads, timing cvr.,water pump etc. by friends w/ pwr. tools and too much time on their hands over a year ago) .But I tried to keep the cylinders sprayed down w/ wd40 and pb blaster. All thats left are the rods, pistons and crank. It is of course is frozen. Th rust seem to wipe out w/ cloth. I've been told to hit the pistons to try to brek free of rust which I undersatnd, but do I also hit the bottom of thre rods( caps) then remove the crank? Like I said, I"m a newbie when it goes past oil changes..
